BASIC SCIENCE CLUB
About Us
To arouse and cultivate students’ interest in learning basic science. To assist students in carrying out self-directed activities in areas of interest in science. To encourage students to participate actively in the activities organized by the club during Prajyukttam. To enable students to gain organisational experience by participating and volunteering in events organized by the club during the academic year.
EVENT 1
Paper Presentation

Description
The participants will have to articulate a paper in the standard IEEE format in any topic of their choice. The event is open across all disciplines for the undergraduate and postgraduate students. The paper must be presented in the PowerPoint mode. The final judgement will be made on how well the IEEE format is maintained, documented, presented and the relevance of the theme.

Rules and Regulations
- The paper must be documented in the standard IEEE format.
- The maximum Number of participants per presentation is restricted to 2. Anyone willing to present it singly may do so.
- The presentation must be in the powerpoint format.
- The time limit per presentation is 8-10 minutes, followed by a 2 minute Q and A session.
- One hard copy of the paper must be submitted prior to the presentation.
- Eligibility Criteria : The participant must be a student pursuing undergraduate or post graduate course in any recognized college/University/Institute. It is a mandate for the participants to carry their ID cards provided by their respective institutes at the time of the registration.

EVENT 2
Retrace your Basics

Description
Level 1 – “Brain Teaser”
The participants are supposed to solve maximum number of questions involving high school science, maths and quantitative aptitude in a limited period of time.
Level 2 – “Tape a tale”
Description : Extempore speech from a pool of basic scientific processes or principles. Time Limit – 3 minutes per speaker.

Rules and Regulations
- The participant scoring maximum marks in total will be the winner of the event (Cummulative evaluation)
- The participant must be a student of Assam Don Bosco University.
